Two more men have been arrested by the police in Malta in connection with investigations into the discovery of 50kgs of cannabis resin found in the possession of a Maltese man in Tunisia last January.

The police said that last Friday, as the police went to a residence in Marsaxlokk to arrest a 19-year-old in connection with the drugs found in Tunisia, they also found two cannabis plants.

In connection with the drug discovered in Tunisia, the police have also arrested a 38-year-old man from Fgura.

An Egyptian aged 40, who resides in Malta, had already been investigated and arraigned in connection with drugs find in Tunisia.

At Ħamrun, the police, acting on reports that a man, aged 41, had been observed trafficking drugs from his residence in Ħamrun, searched his residence where they found objects that are associated with the trafficking of heroin.

And during a raid at Buġibba on Sunday afternoon the police found drugs in the possession of a 36-year-old Maltese man who resides in Buġibba.

Various drugs including ecstasy pills, sachets containing cannabis and cocaine that were ready to be sold were allegedly found in the man’s possession, the police said.

On Sunday night, a 30-year-old man from Cospicua was found in possession of drugs after he was observed acting suspiciously in Birkirkara. During a body search the police found ecstasy and LSD pills.
