The man found dead at l-Ahrax in Mellieħa last week died from a single stab wound to his heart, sources told Times of Malta.

Officially, the decomposed body was not yet identified and the police are waiting  for the results of DNA tests but it is strongly suspected the corpse is 47-year-old Paul Grech, of Naxxar, who had been missing for nine days.

Over the weekend, the police interrogated a Russian man in connection with the crime.

The Russian man left Malta for Sicily on October 12 and the police spoke to him on his return late last week. It is believed he and Mr Grech were friends.
