Andrew and Elizabeth Farrugia, directors of Far Fetched Media, have been ordered by the Criminal Court of Appeal to pay a total of €18,365 to four former employees. Far Fetched Media used to operate the Family Channel.

The court found that they had failed to pay wages due as well as overtime, notice money, bonus money and allowances to Charmaine Xuereb, Daniela Camilleri, Nataniel Micallef and Rodren Vella.

Ms Camilleri, Mr Micallef and Mr Vella had their employment terminated on June 1, 2009 while Ms Xuereb was dismissed a month earlier.

Andrew and Elizabeth Farrugia had appealed a first court judgement where they were ordered to pay their former employees €19,562.

The directors pleaded that they could not pay up because of the actions of third parties and legal action was still pending. They also argued that the claims for payment were exagerrated.
