Measures taken as this will help lighten the financial burden faced by Gozitan students, the Gozo University Group said.

It noted that Gozitan students will now receive a €300 increase per year. However, this was not the long-term solution and sustainable measures had to be taken for the future.

The group acknowledged the advancements in the feasibility study regarding the permanent link and said it was carrying out a survey among Gozitan students to find their opinion on the project and whether a fast ferry service would be their preferred option.
