The Justice Ministry has started online publicity of judicial sales by auction as part of of a package of measures which follow legislation on judicial auctions approved by Parliament last year.

Justice Minister Carm Mifsud Bonnici said that in terms of the new legislation, items cannot be declared sold at judicial auctions unless bids are higher than 60 percent of the estimated value.

Measures to speed up judicial auctions were introduced earlier this year. Such auctions will now be advertised on the ministry's website along with a description of the items or properties and their estimated value.

Dr Mifsud Bonnici also announced at a press conference this afternoon that a number of people had been recruited for the staff complement of judges.
