The Malta Employers' Association supported the reduction in income tax rates on the lines proposed in the previous Budget, as long as these didnot jeopardise the targets of deficit reduction.

In its proposals for next year's Budget, the association proposed the adjustment of VAT registration thresholds saying they were established in 1995 when the first vat law was enacted and had little relevance today.

Other proposals are about SMEs, child care, tax incentives for the care of elderly parent and maternity leave.
