I congratulate the Mdina mayor, Peter dei Conti Sant Manduca, as well as his councillors on the huge success they achieved in this year's Mdina Mediaeval and Flower Festival.

I am Mdina born and I lived there for nearly 30 years. Consequently, I appreciate all that has been done recently to put our beloved old city on the map.

A big well done to all those concerned as well as the very capable floral designer who embellished the old city with his artistic floral arrangements.

From what I saw, both the Maltese and foreign visitors seemed to be enjoying the general atmosphere created, the re-enactments and the pageantry.

May we have more of these more often?

The whole island is crying out for events like these to go on and, emulating the Mdina example, they would be a fantastic way of entertaining the tourists and the locals alike.
