Mater Dei has invested €100,000 in a vascular ultrasound machine, the Parliamentary Secretariat for Health said yesterday. The ultrasound machine will be used to identify which arteries could be used for bypass procedures.

The machine will make it possible for some 5,000 scans to be carried out annually. Visiting the lab, Health Parliamentary Secretariat Chris Fearne said the Health Department had not only invested in machinery but also in human resources.
