A massive fire broke out in an iconic building in India's commercial capital, Mumbai. No casualties were immediately reported.
The fire erupted in the Metro House building on the Colaba Causeway, a busy commercial street in south Mumbai, around 4 pm.
Huge plumes of smoke and fire were seen billowing out of its top floors as fire fighters fought to control the blaze.
Chief fire officer P.S. Rahandhale said residents were being evacuated from the building.
Winds made the operation harder for the firemen as the fire, mostly concentrated in the rear side, spread swiftly.
The building is very close to Regal Cinema, a Mumbai landmark. It is home to the famous Cafe Mondegar and popular fast-food joint McDonald's.
