The number of people registering for work in September stood at 1,813 dropping by 26.7% when compared to the corresponding month in 2017.

Data provided by Jobsplus and published by the National Statistics Office indicate a decline of 601 persons registering under Part I of the Employment Register and of 58 among those registering under Part II.

Registered unemployed dropped among all age groups. Registrants for work decreased with the largest drop recorded among persons who had been registering for more than one year.

The number of persons with a disability who were registering for work decreased by 46 when compared to the previous year, reaching 244. Men accounted for 70.5% of total registrants with a disability.

The largest share of men 18.3% and women 42.5% on the unemployment register sought occupations as clerical support workers.

The registered unemployment rate in April 2018 stood at 0.9% of the labour supply, (excluding part-time employment); 1% for men and 0.7% for women.
