Felipe Massa showed determination to push harder after winning the Bahrain Grand Prix on Sunday.

"The result of the first two races was not as I expected, something was missing," he said. "This time we put everything together. I'm really pleased. Now we need to push even harder to keep up the momentum."

The Brazilian is now just five points adrift of joint championship leaders Raikkonen, Alonso and Hamilton. Alonso, was obviously disappointed after coming fifth, saying a podium was his target, but he said that he had not expected to be in the lead for the championship at this stage of the season. "I was not able to have the right pace. I was unlucky. Ferrari just did a better job," he said, admitting he felt uncomfortable in the car. The Spaniard had also appeared ill at ease during the qualifying sessions on Saturday, when he was constantly outpaced by team mate Hamilton. The rookie Briton, meanwhile, remained calm, but there was no hiding his joy. "To have another second place in only my third race, I couldn't ask for more," he said in the post-race news conference. "There's only one more step from here. I think it's a fantastic achievement, another to add to my career," he added. "I'm extremely proud."

Kimi Raikkonen said he was a bit disappointed with third. "I think the whole weekend has been quite difficult, not the easiest one really. I think we’re missing a bit on the handling, so hopefully we will find something. We have some new parts which hopefully will improve the situation for me, so we can start to try to be in front again.
