The committee of the Malta Association of Small Shareholders last Friday met the chairman of Bank of Valletta, John Cassar White, at his own request, regarding recent media reports on the bank’s financing operations.

MASS queried BOV’s loans to Electrogas and Air Malta, and the early retirement package offered to parliamentary secretary Michael Falzon.

“All the association’s questions were answered and the chairman also dwelt on challenges that the bank is tackling such as the new IT system which requires substantial investment and higher regulatory costs,” MASS said in a statement.

Mr Cassar White also informed the association that a new online trading platform will soon be launched.
