The Malta FA last night turned down Marsaxlokk's protest against the result of last Sunday's Premier League match against Sliema Wanderers, which the latter won 2-1.

In a hearing in front of the Protests Board, Marsaxlokk contended that new Sliema striker Victor Ortega Coto, of Costa Rica, was ineligible to play for the Wanderers due to irregularities in his transfer documents.

However, the Protests Board ruled that Coto's documents were according to the rules and dismissed Marsaxlokk's protest.
