Marsaxlokk Sailing Club protested today that officials from the Lands Department had forced their way into its premises illegally, seizing furniture and equipment stored inside.

In a judicial protest, the club held the Commissioner of Lands responsible for losses made on its investment in the premises and called for a return of the goods.

Last month the Civil Court rejected a judicial application filed by the club to suspend proceedings by the Lands Department for the payment of rent amounting to €180,302.
