Marsaxlokk and Birkirkara will be looking for valuable points in their bid to boost their Championship Pool aspirations when they face Msida and Mqabba at the Centenary Stadium this evening.

These two matches were originally scheduled for last weekend but were called off because of rain.

Only one point separates sixth-placed Marsaxlokk (16) and Birkir-kara (15) in the standings and victory this evening is a must to keep the pace at the top.

Marsaxlokk and Msida will be the first on to the pitch at 6 p.m. with both sides forced to make changes.

Brian Talbot, the Marsaxlokk coach, is without Renato Conceicao and Cleaven Frendo, both suspended.

Patrick Curmi, the Msida coach, has a harder task to name his team as he has four players unavailable due to suspension - Dino Cachia, Priso Doding, Stefano Grima and Manuel Bartolo.

Birkirkara are favourites to return to winning form when they face lowly Mqabba at 8 p.m.

The Stripes are expected to have skipper Michael Galea from the start while defender Ron Hartvig returns from suspension.

Mqabba will be without midfielder Claudio Calleja who is banned for one match.
