Marsascala Solid Base Engineering set the seal on a memorable season, making it an en plein after winning the waterpolo second division KO yesterday when they beat Ta’ Xbiex Mermaids Paradise in the curtain-raiser to the big match of the day.
The team from the south, guided by Anthony Farrugia, were without doubt the dominant outfit in their category, very often winning their duels by comfortable margins.
They were spearheaded by Serbian player Milos Koralji, with efficient teamwork backing him up as the team picked their spot time and again.
Yesterday’s match followed the same pattern after Ta’ Xbiex cut down the deficit to level matters from 2-5 down. Following that Marsascala never looked back as their lead was extended to clear-cut proportions.
