Anna Spiteri, 46 of Marsa, was today arraigned in court and accused of importing 3.5kg of heroin on Wednesday.

She was also accused of drug trafficking.

She pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody after Magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna took into consideration the large amount of heroin which was found.

Two Libyan men arrested in connection with Ms Spiteri's case were accused of conspiring to import drugs and were also refused bail.
