The Planning Authority will on Wednesday launch a consultation on the uses of the Marsa Sports Complex, a process which will lead to the drafting of a masterplan on maximising the use of land allocated for sports in Malta, Parliamentary Secretary Clyde Puli said today.

He made his comments at the Marsa racecourse, which has undergone modernisation over the summer.

The parliamentary secretary was shown around the racecourse, where sand imported from Montenegro has been laid. Parts have been re-levelled.

The paddock area has been upgraded and new safety features introduced.

Works on the old racecourse were also carried out so that this could be increasingly used for training purposes.
