The Parliamentary Environment Committee was today requested to discuss a possible breach of EU regulations by the Planning Authority when it approved plans for high rises in Mriehel after a public consultation process was closed.

The call was made by independent MP Marlene Farrugia, former chairperson of the committee.

Dr Farrugia said he matter should be discussed in the committee with environment NGOs and Civil Society since, she said, the planned development would harm undermine air quality and visual intrusion rules.
