Independent MP Marlene Farrugia has extended the free dental service she is offering to people from low income families, saying the problem of waiting lists at government clinics is even more serious than she had anticipated.

Dr Farrugia was criticised a few days ago when she offered the service to only a number of localities, with some seeing it as a trawl for votes in localities she will contest.

Dr Farrugia said that until the government solves its problems all those people of any age who are entitled to the pink card or have a low income can phone her clinic for emergency pain relief dental care.

Dental care services for children and students is being extended to include Fgura, Marsa, Valletta, Gzira, St Paul's Bay, Bugibba, St Julian's and Qormi.
