The Malta Football Association has registered a marked increase in revenue up to May 31, 2010, the association’s auditor Vince Curmi told club dele-gates at the Centenary Hall, yesterday.
According to the association’s accounts, the Malta FA had a total revenue of €5,522,379 – €443,014 more than the previous year.
This rise was due to an increase in income from international matches that rose from €1,128,245 in 2009, to €1,318,072 in 2010.
The interest receivable also rocketed from €4,332 in 2009 to €38,007 in 2010 while there was also a rise in advertising money, which went up from €31,228 to €43,672, and sponsorships. These improved from €76,118 to €84,599.
There was also remarkable increase in terms of sundry income which moved up from €24,065 to €43,289 in 2010.
A plus for the Malta FA accounts was the fact that the organisation did not suffer a loss in terms of difference on exchange as opposed to the financial year that ended May 31, 2009.
In fact, this time around the MFA finished with a profit of €478 as opposed to a loss of €427,373 in 2009. This has saved the MFA from making a loss of around €300,000.
The total MFA assets now amount to €13,352,707 while the accumulated fund is €4,982,927.
The total comprehensive income for the year was €670,132, almost double the amount for the previous financial year.
