This being the International Year of Biodiversity and to promote the rich marine biodiversity of the Maltese islands around Tourism Day, Din l-Art Ħelwa has mounted an extensive exhibition of different aspects of marine life.

Themed The World Under The Sea, the exhibition features colourful images of the little known organisms the Maltese seabed has to offer. These are sub classifications of marine life not restricted to the better known fish and will evidence the numerous plants, algae, molluscs and other crustaceans, sponges, cnidaria and echinoderms that which abound so plentifully around the Maltese islands.

Most images were taken by Stanley Farrugia Randon, a DLĦ council member and coordinator of the exhibition. The exhibition opens at Judge Caruana Curran Hall, 133, Melita St, Valletta today and runs until October 19. Sponsored by The Body Shop Foundation and Casapinta Ltd, it will be open between 9 a.m. and noon daily and till late during Notte Bianca tomorrow.

Volunteers will be present to escort visitors round the displays also give out information.
