An Easyjet plane heading to Manchester turned back towards Malta barely half an hour into its flight this afternoon after a passenger fell ill.

The passenger reported to cabin crew when EZY 1998 was over Sicily. The pilot subsequently opted to turn the plane around and return to Malta, to allow the passenger to receive medical treatment.  The plane has since landed.
