A man who runs an internet café at the Marsa open centre called on the court to order that criminal action be taken against the manager of the centre for illegally disconnecting his electricity supply.

Bashir Abdalla Jimale filed an application in the Magistrates’ Court against the Police Commissioner.

He said that last Friday he had filed a report at the Paola police station against the manager of the open centre, Ahmed Zanya Bugre. He told the police Mr Bugre had disconnected the electricity supply of the area he rented out and operated as an internet café.

The café was used by residents at the centre and was also open to members of the public.

Mr Jimale asked that police action be taken against Mr Bugre for exercising a pretended right over the café.

He claimed that when he went back to the police station on Monday to check what action had been taken he was told his original report had not been recorded.

Consequently, Mr Jimale took his case to court for the Police Commissioner to process his complaint and take action against Mr Bugre.

Lawyer Joseph Brincat signed the application.
