A man from Chad was remanded in custody after he pleaded not guilty to slightly injuring a police officer and another two men, assaulting a public officer and disobeying police orders.

The man, Salah Adam, walked into Lidl in Qormi at 7.30am today and refused to pay for items he wanted.

The court heard that police officers were called and the accused began grabbing whiskey bottles from shelves and throwing them at the officers. Four bottles were smashed.
