An unidentified man was rushed to hospital early on Saturday morning following an argument in Cospicua, the police said. 

The victim, who was later identified as a 26-year-old Libyan man who lives in Żejtun, appeared to have been stabbed during an argument involving "several individuals" in the area known as San Ġwann T'Għuxa around 1am.

Police from the Rapid Intervention Unit rushed to the scene after the alert was triggered while an ambulance assisted the victim. He is suffering from grievous injuries. 

Police are investigating the incident.
