A 23-year-old man from Cospicua was today taken to court and accused of selling the entire contents of his terminally-ill mother's home while she was in hospital.

The court was told that the case happened late last month without her knowledge. The accused sold the furniture, valued at some €2,329, to fund his drug-taking.

He pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody.
