A man who fell a considerable height off Dingli Cliffs in his car was rescued by an AFM helicopter team this morning.

The incident happened at about 7.30 a.m. close to the radar station. The car, a blue Toyota, crashed onto a tree. The man managed to stagger out and fell some further distance.

A rescue team from the Civil Protection Department climbed down to the injured man and requested the assistance of an AFM helicopter.

The AFM team hoisted the man up to the helicopter, hovering close to the cliff face, and transferred him to Mater Dei Hospital for urgent medical treatment.

His condition is not known.
