A man who lives in St Julian's was this morning remanded in custody after he pleaded not guilty to trafficking cannabis and being in possession of the drug, as well as cocaine and ecstasy, in circumstances which denoted they were not for his exclusive use.

Jason Farrugia, 27, also pleaded not guilty to forming part of a group of people who wanted to traffic drugs, to committing these crimes within 100 metres of a place where young people meet and to relapsing.

The court ordered the freezing of his assets.

The man was stopped by the police yesterday morning and they found him carrying 250 grammes of cannabis and a capsule of cocaine.

They then found more drugs in his garage.

Altogether, they found more than 15 kilogrammes of cannabis, 537 ecstasy pills and around 10 grammes of cocaine.
