A 32-year-old man from Gzira, Angel Attard, was today granted bail after pleading not guilty to conspiring to traffic 18 kilograms of cannabis grass.

Another two people were arraigned on the same charges yesterday but their hearing was behind closed doors.

All were granted bail against a deposit of €10,000 each and a personal guarantee of €20,000 each.

The drugs, which were brought into Malta from Sicily, were found in the basement of a Sliema garage and a controlled delivery led the police to Mr Attard.

They were seized in an operation by the Drugs Squad Police which started on Monday.

Four people were arrested.
