A 53-year-old Tunisian man was grievously injured in a fire on a boat at the Vittoriosa Waterfront this afternoon.

The police said that the man, from Vittoriosa, had apparently been checking the engines when the fire broke out.

He was taken to Mater Dei Hospital for medical treatment.

Police investigations are ongoing.
