A man is in danger of dying following a rather unusual traffic accident at Senglea.
The police said in a statement this morning that a badly damaged Renault was found crashed against a wall at Triq-iz-Zewg Mini in Senglea late yesterday afternoon but its driver was nowhere to be found.
While police officers were looking over the car, it burst into flames.
The police were given a description of the driver but could not locate him. However later in the evening they were informed by the hospital authorities that a 49-year-old from Vittoriosa had been admitted, suffering serious injuries.
It was soon established that he had been the driver of the vehicle. HIs condition was described as being life threatening.
