A car dealer who allegedly conspired to set a police inspector’s car on fire has been remanded in custody.

Duncan Buttigieg, 29, of Għaxaq allegedly told another man about his intention to set Inspector Angelo Gafa’s car on fire as he left the courtroom of Magistrate Edwina Grima on Tuesday.

But this person, who is also being investigated, threatened Mr Buttigieg  that he would be using the information against him, sources close to the case said.
