A 61-year-old man from Ħamrun was grievously injured this morning, when he was hit by a refuse truck outside City Gate.

The police said the accident happened at 6.05am as the scammel was being driven in reverse mode.

The truck was being driven by a 59-year-old from Mtarfa.
