The police have arrested a man in Birzebbuga on suspicion that he was involved in the theft of cash from the games room of a hotel in Mellieha earlier in the day.

The man was spotted by a hotel employee but managed to escape in a car.

The man was arrested after his car was spotted in Birzebbuga in the afternoon. Tools were found inside.

Further investigations are under way.
