A man was granted bail for a third time today after he was accused of driving dangerously while drunk, slightly injuring a woman, threatening and assaulting policemen, breaching bail conditions and committing the crime during the operative period of a suspended sentence.
Yousri Agouri, a 33-year-old Libyan who lived in Fgura, was also accused of damaging a car.
The case allegedly happened on Monday at St Julian's.
Police Inspector Luke Bonello told Magistrate Charmaine Galea during her first sitting as duty magistrate that whether the accused admitted to it or not, he had a drinking problem.
Every time he got drunk, he ended up in court.
He had two pending cases on similar charges and had already been convicted in another case.
Bail was granted against a deposit of €400 and a personal guarantee of €8,000. The accused asked for a lower bail deposit because he could not afford it as he sends his children to a private school.
His request was denied and he will be kept in custody until he pays up.
