A suspected love rat has been publicly outed after two women used a banner over the A1 near Gateshead to dump him.

The banner, which was seen by thousands of morning commuters, was hung from a bridge on the north-bound carriageway near to the Angel Of The North.

It read: "Steve Frazer you're dumped by both your girlfriends."

Two women, named as Nicola Morland and Angela Illingworth, were pictured on the red and yellow sign in a selfie together as well as a man on the other side, who is wearing a black North Face jacket.

Ms Morland told the Newcastle Chronicle: "It has been quite a shock how far this has gone.

"Enough is enough now, we've proved a point and it's hit him where it hurts."

The second woman, Ms Illingworth, has reportedly gone on holiday in Spain to get away from everything that has happened.

Mr Frazer allegedly dated both women, who had never previously met, for about six weeks.

The sign has since been removed from the busy stretch of road but not before it was seen by a large number of people.
