A man accused of stealing a van which the police caught him with a few minutes after the act has been remanded in custody.

Antoine Gravina, 26, of Zurrieq, pleading not guilty to stealing a Toyota Hiace from Ta' Qali on Wednesday. He also pleaded not guilty to breaching conditions of a previous release.

Magistrate Lawrence Quintano told the accused that he should decide to either settle down and start a family or to continue in the life of crime he had allegedly embarked upon.

He ordered that the man be seen by a psychologist in prison and that he was given all the help he needed to tackle his drug problem.
