A  man charged with a string of aggravated thefts including a number of cameras from parked cars, and a computer, was today denied bail after pleading not guilty.

Neil Carl Farrugia, 33, from Birkirkara was arraigned under arrest before Magistrate Ian Farrugia by police inspector Kurt Zahra. 

The man was accused with the theft of a Nikon camera worth €1,400 from a Toyota Vitz in Ħamrun last November, a Dell computer from a garage in Birkirkara in February last year, and a Kodak camera wort €150 from a Toyota Hilux in Birkirkara in July 2014. He was also charged with damaging third party property, relapsing and breaching bail conditions.

The prosecution explained that the alleged crimes were deemed aggravated because of the means employed as well as the value or nature of the items stolen.
