A 31-year-old man from Mosta has been granted bail against a deposit of €300 and a personal guarantee of €2,000 after he pleaded not guilty to harassing his former girlfriend.

Roberto Bruno also pleaded not guilty to threatening her, misusing a mobile phone and driving his BMW dangerously.

Lawyer Kenneth Grima, who appeared for the alleged victim, told Magistrate Audrey Demicoli that the accused had hacked into the victim facebook account and portrayed her as a prostitute who worked for free.

He also drove his car at her. Dr Grima said that if this man was granted bail, there should be strict conditions banning him from talking to the woman or approaching her in any way.

Lawyer Marion Camilleri appeared for Mr Bruno.
