A 21-year-old Palestinian was yesterday charged with stabbing a Libyan at the Valletta bus terminus.

Akef Meji Werd pleaded not guilty to grievously injuring Abdulrzaki Albuashi at 10 on Saturday evening.

Mr Albuashi was stabbed with a pointed object during an argument between the two.

Magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna granted Mr Werd bail against a personal guarantee of €1,000.

The police also filed an application to deport the victim who allegedly is in Malta illegally.

Police Inspector Pierre Micallef-Grimaud prosecuted.

Lawyer Chris Balzan appeared in parte civile.

Lawyer Martin Fenech appeared as legal aid to Mr Werd.
