Renald Haymen, 32 of Senglea admitted in court today to breaking into his girlfriend's house, threatening her and disobeying police orders in an incident which took place during an argument yesterday morning in Senglea.

His lawyer, Licio Schria, said that his client had kept on the straight and narrow for the past months, but whenever he touched alcohol, be lost the plot. His client, he said, needed guidance from a probation officer to make sure that the progress he had made so far was not lost.

Inspector Robert Said Sareo, prosecuting, said imprisonment would not help the situation and he agreed that the accused needed guidance in life.

Asked what he did in life, Mr Haymen replied simply 'gym' and later confirmed he was not employed by anybody and spent his life in a gym.

Magistrate Giovanni Grixti will sentence him tomorrow morning.
