A 24-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy, both from Birkirkara, today admitted a series of burglaries following the discovery, last Sunday afternoon, of a large quantity of stolen furniture.

The police raid yielded paintings, clocks and many pieces of antique furniture and two police trucks and a number of vans were needed to remove them.

Raymond Zammit and the boy (whose name is not being published because he is a minor) were accused of stealing furniture between May and July last year from houses at Valley Road, Msida, Fleur-de-Lys Road, Birkirkara, Pieta' seafront, Eucharistic Congress Street, Mosta, St Roque Street, Birkirkara and Olaf Gollcher Street, Birkirkara.

Sentencing will take place on Friday. The two were granted bail.

The stolen items are being returned.
