A car driver was arrested in a St Julians car park a few hours after his alleged involvement in a hit-and-run incident in Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq yesterday.

A motorcyclist was injured in the accident, which happened at around midday, and his bike was damaged.

The biker was driving along the Coast Road towards the north when the collision took place. The car suspected to have been involved in the accident was found in the Portomaso car park at around 5 p.m., police sources said.

Its driver is expected to be arraigned soon.

The sources said the motorcyclist, a 20-year-old Iklin man, injured his hand.

They added that such hit-and-run incidents were not uncommon.
