A 25-year-old man has been arrested following a cannabis find in Senglea yesterday afternoon.

The drug was found by the Drug Squad, which was following up on information it received that the young man was trafficking and hiding the drug at his mother’s residence.

When the police tried to stop the man in the street he escaped to his mother’s house and threw away a box containing the drug. This was later found by the police.

The box contained 18 pieces of cannabis resin and 12 packets of cannabis grass ready to be sold.

Magistrate Lawrence Quintano is holding an inquiry.
