A 28-year-old man from Marsa, Keith Pace, has been remanded in custody after yesterday admitting in court to a string of thefts committed earlier this year.

He was accused of having stolen items from antiques shops in Valley Road, Msida and in Balzan and committing thefts from residences in Fra Diegu Street, Hamrun, St Thomas Street, Floriana, Pieta' Seafront, in all cases but one exceeded €2,329.37.

He was also accused of damaging those properties, handling stolen goods and violating the conditions of a previous release.

Sentence is to be handed down on Wednesday.
