A Somali man has been jailed for a month after pleading guilty to making a false statement when attempting to renew a passport issued in someone else's name.

Abuukar Ahmed Qadar, 27, pleaded guilty to making a false statement when trying to renew a passport of Abdisalam Mohamed Elmi.

Magistrate Audrey Demicoli jailed him for a month.

Police Inspector Mario Haber prosecuted. Lawyer Martin Fenech appeared for the man as legal aid.
