Clinton Dalton, 25 of St Paul's Bay, was remanded in custody today after being accused in court of two burglaries and an attempted burglary from houses in Mellieha.

The cases took place between July and October, with the man allegedly forcing entry through windows.

He was accused of stealing cash and various items, as well as damaging the properties. He was also accused of breaching the conditions of a suspended sentence and two bail decrees.

The accused pleaded not guilty but did not file a request for bail.

Last week a court jailed another man, Jason Scerri, for a year after convicting him of theft from a villa in Mellieha, relapsing and breaching bail conditions.

The police traced the accused because of a distinctive tattoo of playing cards on his arm after his picture was shown on Facebook.
