Francis Mamo, 53, personally and in representation of Oman Construction Ltd, was this morning arraigned in court and accused of the manslaughter of a two-year-old boy who died when he fell down a shaft in Zebbug.

The boy, Gabriel Agius, fell a height of one storey down the shaft in the common area of a number of garages on April 16 at about 1 p.m.

Mr Mamo was accused of causing the death of the toddler through negligence.

He was also accused of having, on previous occasions, ignored warnings to remove danger to the public on building sites in the same street.
