A 54-year-old man from Fgura is still fighting for his life six days after the tragic car show event which saw a Porsche 918 Spyder plough into a crowd of spectators.

The man was wedged between the Porsche and a car on static display during the Paqpaqli Għall-Istrina charity event, which injured 28 on Sunday afternoon.

Another 20-year-old man from Tarxien is also in a grevious condition, although he is not in danger of losing his life, hospital sources said.

The six other patients, including a 38-year-old woman and her six-year-old daughter, have been released from intensive care and are reported to be in a stable condition.

Meanwhile, Paul Bailey, the 55-year-old British millionaire who was driving the Porsche supercar, has been discharged from hospital.

Mr Bailey and his wife, Selena, are known for being the only people in Britain to own the ‘holy trinity’ of the so-called hypercars: the ill-fated Porsche 918 Spyder, a Ferrari LaFerrari and a McLaren P1.

The couple also owns over 50 other supercars – Mr Bailey brought four of them over to Malta to display free of charge to help raise funds for l-Istrina.
